My name is Charlie Haskell. Charles, if you want to get technical, but let's not. I was born in a nation that was once great (when we weren't busy killing Indians) and could be great again. I've been fighting for something to believe in since I got out of high school. Now I'm twenty-four, I look around and what I see is crazier than ever. It's up to us, the freaks, to teach and guide and change the world without destroying life. Sometimes, though, even I get carried away. That's what it means to be human. You have good times, you have bad times, you have rotten times, you have groovy times, you have times better spent asleep, but you'd better wake up again. You've got to keep your eyes open even when they're closed.
